Our Values

We’re on a mission to grow a brilliant, honest & profitable café business without compromising what we stand for and have a positive impact on the world. Our manifesto tells you how we will do this.

It was August 2013 when BTP Honiton employed a Floor Team Member called Rebecca Bachmann. Over the next 5 years, Becks worked her butt off, learning everything she could and as a result progressed to Floor Supervisor before being promoted to Assistant Manager.

It was her Ops Manager Alice that could see the potential that Becks had. With the support and encouragement from Alice and some of the GMs in her area, Becks started to build her confidence and prepare to take the GM role. Since working with Neema Becky has gone from strength to strength as her confidence builds. I recall having a couple of conversations with Becks myself – where she doubted whether she was ready to be GM but one thing I knew then and still holds true today; Becks is a true hospitality pro.

Since her promotion – and in truth, before then too – Becks has demonstrated a level of determination, resourcefulness and positivity that is to be admired. At one point, she was running her café without an AM, KM or AKM. Honiton is notoriously a challenging town to recruit in yet she refused to compromise and only hired those that shared our values. A decision that has very much paid off.

It was a special day when Honiton had a full management team… And can I just say, what a team they are. Amy Clothier is one of our best KMs (who joined us as a SKA in Whiteladies) and with her leading the kitchen we’ve finally appointed the dream that is Rob Krygier as our Assistant Kitchen Manager. Our wonderful Emma Jardine from Exeter was deservedly promoted to be Beck’s Assistant Manager. Then there’s Katie Elford – Head Barista extraordinaire who also worked her way up from Floor Team.

That summer Honiton had 4, yes FOUR record weeks on the trot. Becks and her team continue to SMASH it; with numerous budget beating & record weeks. So much so that she’s been able to get involved with other projects that impact the rest of the business.

Becky has always asked for help, she’s not afraid to try new things, she keeps smiling (even when she doesn’t feel it) and she genuinely cares about her business, her team, her customers and BTP. She’s a true BTP legend and embodies our values at every turn.
